What I Wore Wednesday

I'll participate in another week of What I Wore Wednesday today considering I actually got ready this weekend.
Don't know when the next time will be, but here ya go!

Pants: Anoname Jeans from Urban Blues (My most favorite jeans, I suggest every person to own a pair!)
Shoes: Leopard Steven High Heels by Steve Madden
Bangle Bracelets: Macy's

Speaking of Steven, Steven Madden shoes, aren't these pink 'Fierce' Pumps to die!?
Love em, click here to buy.

Oh and thanks for all the great advice from this haircut post!  I wimped out and had my husband just take about three inches off the ends.....
....Not perfect but what can you expect from a man who never attended hair school?  He's getting better the more and more cuts he performs.  Is that bad that I was the one who went to cosmetology school, and he's the one that cuts both of our hair?
BUT the good news?  I only have about an inch or two left before my hair is completely color FREE!  Never thought I'd see the day :)

Hope you enjoyed!  Happy Wednesday to you!

Headband-Scarf Tutorial

I love headband scarves like these:

But almost die of an anxiety attack by the day's end from trying to get them to stay on my head.  Does anyone else have this problem?  Scarves are not head friendly I have decided.

SO, the other day I was heading to a swimming party and I wanted to sport a cute scarf headband, but didn't want the annoyance of one.
So I got creative and made this headband in about ten minutes flat...
Wanna know how?  Here you go.....
As I said earlier, this was the quickest project ever.
You could so SO many fun things with it.  You could even make the fabric go much longer than the headband so you could tie it underneath your neck making it appear to be an actual scarf.
Or you could put a flower or bow on it.
And there are so many different cute materials you could use.
Happy head-banding!

Weekend of Birthday PARTAYS!

We had a weekend full of birthday parties!
Friday we celebrated my long time running friend Mich.
First to Texas Roadhouse, then onto shopping at Gateway.
I'll tell you what, me and Mich have been through it all together.
Here's a little view into the fun times I have shared with Michelle.
What I wrote on her FB yesterday:

Mitchlington, Bistro, Offshelk, Michy, Mishka, Michelle My Bell, OH the names you've had, and OH the times we've shared. From the hysteric laughing sessions, to the playing of certain songs over and over and over again, to the chucking of the wallet in my face, to the times I lost my voice and needed a little extra help understanding Tristan and Isolde, to the many different haircuts/colors you've performed on me, even the time I died the chicks bangs bright red in hair school, or the millions of convos involving you know what, or when I died Ryan's hair patch colors and we laughed and laughed and laughed behind his back, the many times we've gone out to eat and shopping, or made fun of the ex the smoker, or the multiple trips to St. George, even the default trip to St. George because we missed our flight to Cali where we were staying at a boat hotel, we are cool, or even getting quickies and hot coco at SLCC, but lets not forget the hot pink bra and underwear you gave me, I still wear the underwear..... And sadly enough I think EVERYONE knew I wore it on my wedding day, why didn't you STOP a friend?!
OKAY, you GET the point, We've been through it all! I LOVE you very very much! PS The shirts? "Add Me"....
I sure do love me a good MICH!

On Saturday it was our adorable friend Charelle's birthday party.  The party was at her parent's house which is SERIOUSLY OFF THE CHARTS!
See for yourselves.
We asked Devin to take a picture of us with the pretty background.  And boy did he.... he snapped, snapped, snapped away!
It was a night full of pool volleyball, cupcakes, food, hot tubbing, tours of the house/cars, and great times with lots of old high school friends.
Wren and I THOROUGHLY enjoyed ourselves :)
S and I with the cute birthday girl!
Can you believe this backyard?!  Wait till you see the HOUSE!
Charelle, thanks for being born.
WE LOVE YOU!

Lusting After Short Hair....

Everywhere I look I spy cute short haircuts which makes it oh so tempting to chop mine off.  Yet every time I cut my hair I'm quite sad about it.... But the haircuts below are very tempting, don't you think?

Which one's YOUR favorite?!

Do you THINK I should chop mine?  Be honest.....

PS Look who grew big and joined Pinterest?!  ME!  It truly is awesome, yet a little overwhelming.  There's too many cute things to even process.  If you want, find me there.  Currently I'm a loser :)

Wren's Mama's Bowtie Chicken Pesto Special

I have had a couple of friends ask me for this recipe since making it at a baby shower the other day.  It's Wren's mom's recipe and it truly is one of heaven's little gifts.  It's so easy and so good.
Great for hot summer days such as the ones we are gifted with right now.

You guys want to know the recipe?
K.....

What you'll need:
Bowtie Pasta
Chicken
Dried Cranberries
Slivered Almonds
Pesto Seasoning

First,
Cook the bowtie pasta (ok what the frick, no matter how I spell bowtie spellchecker says it's wrong???)
Cook the chicken, we boiled it.  It's better cooked in the oven but lets face the cold hard truth, we're lazy.
I know this picture is basically disgusting but I feel so proud to have documented all of it I had to share...
Once the pasta is cooked, strain it, rinse it, and place in BIG bowl.
After chicken is cooked, cut the bad boy up into small pieces.
Add the chicken, excuse my husband he has temporarily gone insane, to the pasta like so.  Well not like so, don't look like he looks.  You'll scare someone.
Proceed by adding these fancy items...
(Wren said, "Don't take a picture of the Great Value item, that's ghetto."  Well honey, everything we can buy Great Value we buy, so if that means we're ghetto, so be it.)
Put however much you want in of each thing.  It's the free U S of A.

Then stir real good.
 And wala, you're done!
Caution: Can cause upset stomach/bloating from eating too much.

This meal is almost better refrigerated overnight and eaten cold.  Sometimes it's even better the fifth day after :)
Good Luck!

Craft Lake City

Two weekends ago Wren and I attended Craft Lake City at the Gallivan Center downtown.  It was right up my alley.  They had 180 different artists showcasing their different handmade items.  Everything was very affordable, so cute, and original.

Here are a couple of my favorite items, and ones I wish I would've purchased.
FYI, these are all taken with my camera phone, hence the blurry... sorry!

Isn't this little baby beanie adorable?!  SO cute!
I loved these little birdie mobiles.
From the looks of it, Wren did too :)

This card is hilarious.  I should have bought it :)
Now for some items I did buy.
These handmade all natural cleaning agents by Nothing But Soap.  They are seriously THE BEST!

This is a bleach alternative.  It gets your whites whiter than bleach, is safe for your colors, and doesn't have all the harsh chemicals that bleach contains.  It's only $8.  So affordable!  It really does work great too.
This cleaning agent is a substitute for something such as 409 and can also be used on glass.  I hate using 409 because of all the fumes I inhale, but love it at the same time because it disinfects.
Well this is the best of both worlds my friends, no harsh chemicals but it still disinfects.  Only $6.  What?!  YES!
And my favorite, this laundry detergent.  It does up to 100 loads, can you believe that?  And it was only $12 measly little ones.  So cheap!  It left our clothes smelling so fresh and I love how tiny it is.  I hate the huge laundry detergent containers.  They suck to store and suck to throw away.
This is just tucked away nicely where I can't even see it :)

Here is the information if you are interested in anything from Nothing But Soap.
Go here to see fun packages she has of different cleaning agents and to purchase anything seen above.

And last, I love all natural lotion.  I can't stand lotion that smells too strong and hate feeling like the perfumes are going straight to my blood stream.  So I was really excited when I saw these natural lotion sticks made by Beehive Soap and Body Care.  They are so moisturizing and concentrated that you hardly need to use any of it and they are completely natural.
The flavor I got was kumquat and let me tell you what..... it smells divine.
Beehive Soap and Body Care sells so much more than just lotion.  Here are a couple stores they sell items out of in Utah.
Or go to their website here to see everything they make.

Seattle Lover

Last week I had the pleasure of visiting Seattle with my family.
I am in LOVE with it.  I think I should have been born there.  Whether it be the unique city on the sea or the impeccable, sunny, 78 degree weather, which apparently is rare, we had the entire time;
the next time I go back cannot come soon enough!

Here's a little glimpse of the eventful vacay.

We spent a couple days at Pikes Place Market.  It's wonderful, miraculous, glorious, I can't even say enough good things about this place!
If I lived near Pikes I would buy these adorable fresh flower bouquets each week.
Can you BELIEVE how cheap?  I sure can't!
The food the entire trip was just simply divine.....
I found some of the cutest things there.  They have the best shopping!
I am head over heels in love with this Great Jones Home store.  I wanted everything in it!
We went to the ocean and took a quick trip to the Floating Market.
My dad did a fashion show in Clyde (that's our trailers name), highlighting his skinny jeans.
Love my dad!  He's smokin!
Went on a fun little hike to the beach and snapped some pics
Yes, even Sister Girl aka Kevin, AND George came!
We're rude, clearly Sister is our favorite!
Took WAY too many pics...
Fought with my sisters to get out of bed every morning.  I think they liked their heated bed in Clyde more than Seattle; Party Poopers.
All good things come to an end, and it was time to head home.
Goodbye Seattle!
Until next time!
