HELP with My Blog Layout and Some Funny Wren Videos for Friday!

First off, go check out Ashley's adorable blog today.  You'll love it and I'm guest posting!  Whoop, whoop!

Second...
I NEED HELP!
I switched my blog layout yesterday to have two side bars rather than one.  When I view it in Chrome it looks great, but in Internet Explorer, BOTH the left and right side bar move to the second or third post down, so they basically don't start at the top like they should.  Does anyone know why?  I will love you forever if you can help poor me :)  And can I just say I HATE Internet Explorer?  It's a deep deep hatred too.  If I can help you with one thing in this confusing world, it's to download Google Chrome this instant and use that as your browser instead... that is if you aren't already doing so.  For one and most importantly, my blog will look better ;) and two, it'll shave years off your nerves and hours off your day.  So use that, your life will dramatically improve.  PS I'm hire-able Google Chrome if you want me for your spokesperson :)
But BACK to me, can anyone help?

So my blog isn't totally boring today, here are three videos for your viewing pleasure...

Warning:  This first one I sound like THE most annoying person EVER!  But I really was convulsing I was laughing so hard.  This is Wren trying on his Halloween costume last night...
I just think his retainer is the cutest thing ever, especially since he can't say his S's when he wears it.
Oh and don't mind my messy kitchen.

This next one is also from last night (we had a productive one).  Wren got his eyes dilated yesterday at the eye doctor so he wore his "kewl" sunglasses all night... while taking a nap, while working on the computer; I don't know why I thought it was so funny.
I think just because he looked so dang cool.
And last, I was looking through our video camera today and found the cutest video from when Wren and I first got married... Almost four years ago.  Time flies when you're having fun!  This is in our first apartment (hence the AWESOME ;) decor in the background) and Wren looks like a baby.  Love him.

Super Easy Ottoman Tutorial!

Today I am posting a super fun and easy tutorial for an ottoman my husband and I just made that I will also be sharing on this cute girl's blog tomorrow.  You've gotta check her blog out too BTW, she's adorable!

K ottomans?  The ones I saw in stores are so dang expensive and not that cute.  So we thought, why not make one exactly how we want it?
It was cheap, easy, and we love it!

So here we go....
What you'll need:
Scissors, staple gun, staples, screws, fabric (dimensions of fabric will depend on how big your coffee table is), measuring tape...
...razor blade, glue gun, and a saw (not pictured).
You'll also need a base of an old coffee table...
Plywood (cut to the dimensions of the top of your coffee table)...
And poly foam, make sure the dimensions can be cut to equal the size of your plywood.  We got two packages of this so there would be enough for two layers.  Our coffee table is huge, so you may only need one package of this.
First, lay the plywood on top of the coffee table making sure that it is the same size.  If your coffee table is rounded on the corners like ours was, you will need to saw the edges of the plywood into a curve to match the coffee table.  If it's just square you may be fine not to saw at all.
It should look like this.
If it matches up well, take the plywood off the table, lay it on the ground, and start matching the poly foam up to it so there's padding covering all of the plywood.  You'll probably need to cut the poly foam and lay it down in pieces in order to cover all of the plywood.  Like a puzzle, get it?  Like I said, we did two layers of poly foam, so if you want your ottoman really plush, do two layers which will probably call for two packages of the poly foam.  We even left a bit of an overhang of poly foam over the edges of the plywood so the edges are all comfy and soft.
Once it's all matched up, hot glue the poly foam to the plywood, and if you're doing two layers of poly foam, glue the second layer to the first layer so it's all secured down and tight.  The reason you are doing this is so when you flip the plywood upside down, the pieces stay where you want them.
Once you've glued everything tightly down, lay your fabric down right side facing the floor, tip your plywood upside down being very careful your poly foam stays in place, and lay it on top of the fabric.
Once you have laid it down, grab the edges of the fabric, stretch REALLY tight, and staple the fabric down to the plywood.  You will move around the entire piece of the plywood doing this.  The key really is to pull the fabric extremely tight.  If you don't, there will be little ripples in your ottoman which you don't want.  Maybe you do, if you do, don't pull it tight ;)
Once you are done it should look something like this!

Flip it over, set it on top of the base of the coffee table, screw the base of the table into the plywood from underneath so it's secure and tight.
And wala, you are done!

Pretty fun huh?
Now go try it and please email me at rolleduppretty@gmail.com if you have ANY questions.  I would love to hear how this turned out for you too, so if you decide to do it, send me the pictures!  That would be so fun to see what you did, I could created a post about everyone's! :)

Inconveniences of Modern Day and Whatever, Whenever, Wednesday Link Up Par-tay :)

Shirt: Gardner Village
Pants: Sports Authority (I know random and another item that my washer ate, but I have no shame that there's a hole peeking into my thigh, they're just that good)
Shoes: DSW
Purse: Pac Sun

Speaking of purses, I just barely switched over to this tiny thing of a purse because the bottomless pit of my bigger bags were just about enough to do me in.  Every time my phone would ring I would dig and dig as my blood pressure would rise, and of course, the second I would I would miss the call I'd find my blasted phone.  I would then have the urge to man handle my bag to the ground.  That would show it how annoying it was.  But not anymore...  Savvy's new miniature friend with it's contents of no rhyme or reason, filled to the brim with random receipts and change is working out quite perfectly.
Because I can actually find my phone.  And gum. And chap stick.  And tampons.

Speaking of phones.  Touch screen phones are just about enough to do me completely in too.  When it rings, I can't even pick it up to see the caller ID without answering my phone.  Texting... lets not even get started there.  I despise, literally despise, texting with my touch screen.  I have a keyboard that slides out but something went terribly wrong with it because every time I text using it, the screen slides all the way up to the top of the conversation with that person.  Pure annoyance.
I miss my very first cricket of a brick phone because texting was a breeze, and finding it in my purse was a breeze.
I miss 2003.

Funny how we have so much technology to help us yet we are constantly cursing it.  I can't remember where I saw this, but there was a comedian who joked that we get so mad when we get inconvenienced by things like dropping a phone call, or our flight getting delayed, or not having enough hot water.  But do we ever stop to consider what a luxury it is to actually HAVE quick means of communication, or HAVE insanely fast travel, or HAVE a hot bath?
We people are funny I tell ya.
But I complain with the best of em.  I want to never drop a call, never wait in an airport, and always have hot water dangit.
Is that too much to ask?
It's 2011 for cryin out loud, get with the times! ;)

Island Way Sorbet and My Dad's Love for Grocery Stores

I have another beloved from Costco guys...
May I Say,
Island Way Sorbet?
I'm feeling very poetic today...
But really, have you tried em?  They are the coolest new things since padded bras.
They have four delectable sorbet flavors and they come in these fun little fruit shells.

Another fun find from my dear Daddy.
Side Note:
Have I ever told you of my Dad's love for the grocery store?  It's deep.  Grocery stores are where most my childhood memories were made.
My Dad has been known but not limited to:
*Every single one of my friends seeing him at one grocery store or another, I get texts all the time saying, "Just saw your dad", I don't even bother to ask where anymore because I already know.
*Going to Harmon's when I was younger like everyday and knowing all the workers there.  One night he brought my mom in and everyone clapped and said, "Mrs. Knudson, we finally get to meet you!"
*Going through stages where he'll love Harmon's and then he'll switch and love Costco and he'll stay there for hours making friends.  My mom knows if he is no where to be found, he'll be at the grocery store.  For three hours.  True story.  It's his part time dream job.
*When I was little and couldn't sleep, I remember going into my parents bedroom at 2:00am and my dad saying, "Let's go to Harmon's Sannah!"  And off we'd go.  I took Brach's candy to a whole new level.
*My friend Michelle called me one time saying, "Okay I just your dad walking out of Walmart pushing his cart with a huge smile on his face and a skip to his walk."
So it's true.
He loves grocery stores guys.
Grocery Stores+My Dad=True Love.
And let's not even get started on what my mom calls his Suzy Q Routine with his apron on, bustling around the kitchen with a huge grin, flailing his hands he's so pleased, and cooking ten times the amount of food we could ever eat as a family.
We'll save that story for a different day.
BUT back to my little dream machines.
I love them.
You can even eat them and pretend you're sitting on the beach, and as Sublime once said, that it's "summer time and the livin's easy, Bradley's on the microphone with Rad-MG".
PS Don't you think my mom should advertise for Island Way Sorbet?
I do.

A Recap Of My Birthday!

So last Wednesday this kitten turned cat when the year struck 26.  I can't believe I'm 26.  It truly is unbelievable. It seems like just yesterday I was 19.  Last night I told a 19 year old that I graduated in 2004 and she gave me the look.  You know that look?  The look that says, "Whoa, I'm hanging out with an old person."  I remember thinking that at her age when someone told me they graduated in 97.  That seemed ancient.  Now I'm there and not quite sure how to feel about it.

Well enough about that talk.

Onto my birthday festivities.
I've decided that I have got the best family and friends out there because the celebration lasted all week long. They made me feel so loved!
It makes birthdays that much better right?
Right.
Now, you ready for the mother f'n picture OVERLOAD?
I try not to post too many pictures normally but I just couldn't cut any out.
They're all gems.
So folks, fasten your seat-belts for it's going to be a loooooong ride.

It started out with a bang on Monday night when we met my family at Cafe on 1st downtown.
My cute mommy and sisters.
My adorable grandparents.  So happy they came!
My dad and the boys.
My family gave me the pan I've been wanting since they got one...
Omelet heaven guys, omelet heaven.
Some old friends even met us down there!
I just love my family.
Tuesday night I went to dinner at Texas Roadhouse with some of my cute girlfriends.
You'd never know Mich, Dana, or Hay were there though.
They swore they'd kill me if I posted any of the pics of them on any social media site.
I'd go against their strong will and just post them, but I really don't want to die at the young, or old (depends on if you're that 19 year old girl or not) of 26.  So I'll do myself a favor and not post them even though they all looked cute.  But whatev.
I sat my bum on the saddle while everyone sang.
It was embarrassing.
This sweater was a cute gift from Mich
I love it.
On Wednesday, my actual birth day, Wren and I both had the day off work so we headed up to Silver Fork Lodge for breakfast.
It was insanely good.
The leaves up there were insanely pretty so Wren had to stop to get some pictures.
I got lots of birthday love.  Thanks everyone for that, you made my day!
Thanks Wren!
Wren was exhausted from all the fun...
Poor guy :)
But the fun didn't stop there.  Wren had gotten us tickets to see Thriller at Kingsbury Hall.
It was fun to go and have a night out on the town.

Thursday I caught up with Sara, she had just gotten home from Belgium and Paris...no big deal.
She gave me these cute little treasures from Paris.  Love her!
Friday night we went to dinner with all of our friends at Bonsai.
It was so much fun!
Their food was incredible as always.
Capturing these moments of us trying to catch the chicken in our mouths is truly a pleasure.
They put on their best singing voices and sang to dear old me.
While Matt and Nick played the...
?
The girlies...
I love them.
And the dudes...
I told them to make their best funny faces and this is what I got...
I could just laugh at this picture for ever.  Guys are just so terribly special.

Joel and Jenna came over after and Joel entertained us by clipping in my hair extensions.
Oh Joel, how white trash you are.

And last but definitly not least...
Wren's families birthday dinner.
Wow are you done looking at pictures yet?  Well sorry.  I'm not :)
Isn't Wren's horse shirt brilliant?
Wren's family made the best dinner.
Okay sorry for what appears to be tons of pictures of me below, but I want you all to see the comical faces Wren's little sister Eden is pulling in the background.  Eden, you were on fire my friend.

Oh hey Ede.
Hi again Ede.
Yep, now she's not amused.
Okay Ede, that's enough.  Tough crowd.
Look at that ADORABLE little nephew of mine.  Is he not to die for?!
There's the spirit Ede!  Where was that when I was blowin out my candles?
Wren's so pleased about his majestic shirt.
Wow, you still with me guys?  If you made it this far, I applaud you.  Truly I do.
Thanks to EVERYONE for making this birthday the best one yet!
LOVE YOU ALL!
