Two of the Best Kept Secrets!

Have you guys seen the new Lauren Conrad line at Kohl's yet?  If not, check it out here.  Cutest stuff EVER.  Lot's of pretty, flowy shirts that would cater wonderfully to this growing bump.
More importantly...
we went and saw our house for the second time last night (not technically ours until 4/20) to assess the situation for the many fix ups that it will need.  And we truly hit the jack pot of ALL mother jack pots.  Underneath the carpet of the entire house is an amazing gem...
HARDWOOD FLOORS!!!
Why you'd ever cover it with carpet is beyond me.  But they did.  And we realized it.  And I'm pretty much on cloud nine.
Now my dream from this post will come true... :)

Gentleman Onesie Tutorial

I have been dying to make these onesies for my little babe for a awhile now.  Yesterday Jenna and I were at Hobby Lobby and one thing led to another and we ended up snagging everything to make these.
Here's what I did...
I bought two of these:
Hobby Lobby $3.99 each
And this:
Hobby Lobby $4.99
And 1/8 of a yard per each fabric:
Hobby Lobby $4.99 a yard, .62 cents each one
Total Cost: About $15.
Not bad, especially considering I only used a fraction of the interfacing and fabric.  I could probably make about 10 more onesies with what I have left if I bought more of the onesies themselves.
Now I...
cut out the shapes that I wanted for the tie, suspenders, and bow tie.  Stuck it to the interfacing right side up, cut the interfacing to fit my material, and stuck it to the onesie.  It's nice because the interfacing has a little bit of stick to it, so you can get everything exactly where you want it.  Once everything looks good, iron on for 10 to 20 seconds on cotton setting.
And wala!
You'll have yourself a very sophisticated look for that special man baby in your life!
Who said boys can't be cute too?
I'm dreaming of striped little leggings underneath, covering chubby little legs.
I can't WAIT!

Score With Wren

25 Weeks
Shirt:  Walmart, yep that's right
Skirt: ASOS Maternity (Heavenly)
Shoes: Whimsy
Headband:  Rue 21
I thought I was being slick when I hid my bangs under my headband today, but it backfired when the wind blew my bangs over the headband.  Woops.
Wren told me the other day that when he was little, one Valentines Day he brought a Valentines box to school that had a basketball hoop and a sign that read, "Score with Wren".  And then he proceeded to print off 30 Valentines for his class members that said, "I'll score you a Valentine".  I just can't stop laughing about it.  What a riskaaay little one he was.  I wonder if any girls got lucky that year?  ;)
I hope our little boy does funny stuff like that.
Oh and thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for all the sweet comments yesterday on our house post.
You guys are seriously THE BEST!

A House

Wow you guys.  I think we did it.
Many of you know we have been searching and searching for a house for awhile now.  Most houses in our price range are short sales which did not work well with our time frame of May 1st (SOON!)  Short sales are the longest process known to mankind, and many have multiple offers which lowers the chances of getting them even further.  Wren and I were getting extremely discouraged.  There wasn't much out there that we liked in our price range, and everything we did like didn't even seem like a possibility.  Well, a couple weeks ago we had put an offer in on a bank owned home in Sandy.  Approval from the bank went to the highest bidder.  We thought we had put in a very strong offer and were just banking that we would get the home.  A couple days after that, a short sale came up on the MLS listing.  It was the cutest little brick house, with a gorgeous yard in Cottonwood Heights.  I sent it over to out Realtor, pretty much knowing we had no chance of getting it.  Anything cute or in a good area usually had tons of offers, plus it was a short sale, and we just didn't have time for that with our May 1st deadline.  We were also just hoping that the Sandy home would work out.  He got back to me quickly and said chances were slim but he'd call on it.  Well a couple hours later we found out someone had outbid us on the Sandy home.  We were so sad and stressed and didn't really know what to even do next.  Then about an hour after that, our Realtor called and said, "Buyer backed out last night on the Cottonwood Heights house, I think we have a chance if we can get our offer in first."  Wren and I were ecstatic!  We put an offer in before even seeing it.  That night we went and saw it and fell in love.  We hadn't looked at any houses that even compared to it.  The location was perfect and the yard and views were insane.  It had a veggie garden, perennial flowers, and incredible mountain views.  But it had to be too good to be true right?  We left and were so excited but so nervous.  We said a prayer that night that if this was the house for us, that it would all work out.  The bank countered our offer in a day, we gladly accepted the offer, and within a week we were approved (this is unheard of for a short sale!)  Our closing date is now April 20th.  Just TEN days before we need to vacate out current place.  Everything just fell into place.  We are so thankful and SO excited that we held out for something that we really wanted and that it worked out!  There's lots of TLC that will be happening within the next month and I'm so excited to share all of it with you along the way!
Everything always works out doesn't it?

Comfort... Where Art Though?

We had a great weekend, filled with sleeping in and tasty food.
At 25 weeks, my stomach is expanding at an ever rapid pace which is causing the muscles in my stomach and back great pain.  This was the first weekend where I just couldn't get comfortable.  Last night I woke up at 4:00am, stirred for about an hour, and finally dragged my sore self to the couch where I watched the cheesy series Parenthood.  Ironic, no?  I did finally get a little shut eye from about 6:30 to 8:00.  Bless that hour and a half of sleeping while sitting up.  Laying just wasn't working anymore.
I have also decided to start the long endeavor of growing my bangs out.  I think.  The zits on my forehead are slowly ceasing, and I just can't bare to lean over the sink every morning to wash my bangs anymore.  It's getting old.  So now I'm rocking an 80s type mullet.  I know you're jealous.  There is a time and a place for bangs, and that time and place is over for Sav.  Speaking of zits, you know you're plagued when your husband tells you to look up at the stars, and the first thing that pops into your head is that two of them look like white heads and the other, an under-grounder.  That's sad.
Mhhh.  Baby boy, you're worth it.
Well, so very sad the weekend is over.  But all good things must come to an end I suppose.
I also have some fabulous news...
Stayed tuned tomorrow!

Our Baby

Last night we were laying on the couch watching Heroes (just started it, does anyone like it?) and baby boy was having a hay day in my tummy.  I swear he was dancing the salsa in there.  Wren and I were laughing hysterically and feeling him for a while, and then Wren started putting his hand on random parts of my stomach and wherever his hand would go, the baby would give a tap-tap in the spot.  It was pretty amazing.  Wren loves getting his mouth right next to my stomach and talking to the baby.  It's like the cutest thing ever.  They are going to be the cutest little duo in town, touring every mountain top snow or shine, bike or skis I'm sure!
Wren emailed me this yesterday,
"I had a dream last night that I was playing with the baby! He was so funny and had chubby legs.  I was making him laugh and it was the best dream ever."
Wren will make the baby laugh 24/7 I'm sure.  He's hilarious.  This morning he was brushing his teeth and when he spit out the toothpaste he made a farting noise and said, "See Sav, the baby will eat that stuff up!"  It's so true.
I had always pictured myself with a girl first, but now I just can't wait for my baby boy.  I already love him so so much.  And I love the baby daddy more than I ever knew possible.
My favorite moments are when Wren and I are laying there, his hands are on my tummy, my hands are on his hands, the baby is moving, and it's just like, WOW.  We created this little miracle growing inside of me, and it's just so amazing.
A little more than three months and we'll get to hold this little dude.  We can't wait!

Cravings and Advertising

Guys.  All I want is bad food.  I don't know what the hay has gotten into me, but it's not good for no one.
Some favorites as we come up on week 25:
(I fully blame this on the babe, they're his cravings... not mine ;))

1. Starbucks Frappuccinos
They could kill me.

 2. Gummy bears
dumped in this...

3. Hint on lime chips

slathered in melted this

dipped in tons of this

4. Coconut juice

5. And of course, anything potato...
I'm trying my hardest to behave my bad self... but why's it so hard?
My favorite is to eat any of these things, and then go to bed.  Oh the shame.

P.S. I have changed my advertising options for April as well.  If you would like to advertise on my blog, check out the options HERE!

Look What I Can Do With Clay

So I was reading Delighted Momma the other day and came across this and this fun tutorial on how to make these bracelets and necklaces out of polymer clay.
Wren watched as I kept making more and more and more and more.  I'm kind of obsessed.  This clay is so easy to work with and who doesn't like playing with clay?  It's so fun!  So check out her fun blog.  You'll love every single one of her posts!
Let me know if you make a play date with clay too!?

Don't forget to enter the fun giveaway I have going on HERE too!  Cute dream catcher!

2 Day No Work Time

We had a nice relaxing weekend.
Friday we went to Sonny's Barbecue in Sandy.  It was okay, not the best.  The heart burn's starting to come back...  And the food their definitly brought it on strong.  So we went and bought ice cream, came home, and watched TV.  I'm feeling more and more like a beached whale.  Ha.
Saturday was spent eating out, sleeping, and going to Park City with Wren's sister Allyssum, her husband Ryan, and baby Lilly.
We went to a restaurant called Vito's.  It's this awesome pizza place.  I would highly recommend it.  The decor and food is awesome, and for a reasonable price.  They also have one downtown Salt Lake off of 2nd south.
It was also this guy's birthday...

My dad!  We brought bagels over for breakfast on Sunday and just relaxed... again.  I love my dad so much, he's the best dad I could ever have asked for.  Plus, what man is really secure enough to wear a snuggie?  Him :)  He kept raising his arms in the air and yelling, "Shooting star!"  HA!

In other fun news... I am currently 23 weeks pregnant!  The time is flying by, I can't even believe it.  Baby Center says that baby boy can now feel me dance, so to start swayin.  LOL.  He is one pound and his lungs are starting to form.  This baby growing stuff really is an complete miracle.  So happy he's mine.  We can't wait to meet him in less than 4 months!
