Our First Before and After Post- A Bathroom!

Wren here, Savannah is a acting like a beached whale tonight ha ha. jk!  She looks gorgeous, I can't imagine carrying a 6-7lb baby all day long.  She has been so fun the past few months.  I love her pregnant, but I am helping her out tonight with our first before and after post of the new place.
What do you think of the bathroom?

Well not that we didn't love a bathroom with carpet, but it had to go. . .
It was a bigger pain than we could have imagined.  There was linoleum under the carpet, then a layer of cement, another layer of linoleum, cement, plywood, and finally the subfloor.  Tearing everything out was tedious because whoever put it in thought that a screw every couple inches would be best.  Guess they didn't think anyone would ever want to tear it up.  Bless their heart!  After accidentally braking off one of the heads to a water pipe and soaking every inch of the bathroom I finally got all the old floor up. I then came to a sad realization that the cast iron toilet drain was a couple inches above the subfloor.  In order to make the tile even with the drain I had to add a layer of plywood before putting the cement board and tile.
We are happy that the bathroom finally came together.  We learned a lot through this whole process and Savannah will be posting about the do's and do not's another day.  It has been a lot of fun to go through this whole experience together.  The work and long hours in the moment kind of sucked, but it has been totally worth it in the long run.  I hope everyone has a great day and we will be posting about what we learned in the near future so those who want to try something similar at some point in time can learn from our mistakes.

38 Weeks, The Babe-It's Coming Soon + Link Up!

Shirt: Forever21
Pants: Forever21
Hat: PacSun
Shoes: Don't Remember

So meeting this little man is right around the corner.  I wake up at night and have myself convinced I'm going into labor even though I have no signs of it and feel completely fine.  It's just crazy that it could happen at any time.  I haven't been nervous for labor up until now.  And I think I'm just nervous that I'm not going to know when I need to go to the hospital.  I'm sure everyone who's had a baby is laughing thinking, "Uh, YOU'LL KNOW" cause it will hurt...  but it's just crazy because I still feel totally normal and fine.  I haven't gotten to the point where I'm uncomfortable like people say you get at the end and don't have any indicators that labor will happen soon.  Maybe that's why I'm nervous I won't know.  Who knows?  Not me.  One thing I do know (do you like how many times I can say know?  I do), the Babe-It (Wren's new name for him), moved pretty much from sun up to sun down yesterday.  I think he's ready to come meet the world already!
So... here's some questions for you mommies out there.  How did you know you were ready to have that baby?  Did it come fast?  Or slow, like days before?  Also, what did you pack in your bag to bring to the hospital?  I started my bag but don't know what the hospital will have and what I will need to bring.  Or what's something you wished you would have/wouldn't have brought?
OR JUST ANY ADVICE PERIOD FOR THAT BIG DAY OR EVEN THE DAYS AFTER!???
I would LOVE your wise advice!
One thing for sure is, I can't even wait to look into my baby's eyes.
AGH!

Oh and THANK YOU for all the sweet and amazing comments on our maternity pictures last week!
You sure know how to make this big old pregnant lady feel good.
I love you all!

Okay one more thing, anyone who knows Wren knows he sleeps frightened and anxious.  It's hilarious, I can't even say his name when he's dozing without him having a panic attack.  Well the other day I needed to ask him something and I didn't even know he was asleep so I said, "Hey Wren?" and he screams, "Theoretically", in a very panicked voice.
Oh man, that baby daddy is going to have some rough times over the next couple months getting woken up unexpectedly.
Bless his soul.

Now it's...

BLUE Baby Shower

My aunt Staci and cousin Alicia put together the cutest baby shower for me last week.  They did way too much and made it so special.  The candy table was ah-MAZING, they put together the cutest games, and made the best food!
I can't thank them and everyone who came enough!
I love you girls!

Girl Time is Fun Time

It has been nothing short of amazing having time to catch up with all my girlfriends now that I don't have a 9:00 to 6:00 job anymore.  All of the things I have missed out on while sitting at a desk for the last 6+ years... we won't think about that though.
Mani-pedis, Ruby Snap cookies (heaven), and antique furniture shopping with Sara, little sister's dance recital, lunch date with longtime friends, dinner with my other two pregnant friends, and pool time with my mommy friends were all such a blast last week!
I think the babe just felt like one of the girls cruising everywhere with his mommy...
He thought it was big biz I'm sure.
Honey, you're a boy though :)
YAY FOR GIRL TIME!

I Hate You SO Bad Right Now Heart Burn

Wow.
Last night was a doozy.  I don't think I slept at all.  It's hard to relax when your throat is slowly getting burned to a deep crisp.  I haven't had many complaints so far, but last night's heart burn was dreadful.  I kept having visions of a curling iron, turned to high, lodged deep inside my throat.  I have you to blame Great Harvest.  Never again am I eating your beehive white bread, and I mean never.
Bad news blues for two days straight for this one.
Anywho, it is the weekend and things are looking up!
Let's just hope I survive this 101 degree heat today!
Anyone have any fun plans?
